Nitrous Oxide
If your child feels nervous about their dental treatment, then ask Dr. Lamb about using nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas). We offer this sedation because it can help children feel calm and relaxed while we provide the care that improves their oral health.
Does your child ever feel nervous about visiting the dentist? Does your child’s upcoming treatment make them feel anxious? If so, they may benefit from nitrous oxide sedation at our office. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a gas that you inhale through a nose mask during dental treatment. As your child breathes in the nitrous oxide, which is mixed with oxygen, they will experience a relaxed, euphoric sensation. Nitrous oxide can help your child feel calm and at ease throughout their treatment. Nitrous oxide sedation is very safe. After your child’s treatment, they will be given 100% oxygen; the effects will wear off within just a few minutes. By the time you and your child leave our office, the nitrous oxide will be out of their system.
